Arizona Wine Country ~ It's A Dry Wine

Recently we drove to Nogales, AZ, for a doctor appointment.  The ninety mile round trip takes us through beautiful high desert grasslands and Southern Arizona wine country.  We noticed a new winery along the highway and stopped to take a picture.

It looked fairly new, but there must be more that we can't see...over the hill, 'cause their hand painted sign says they are looking for tasters!  Oh, if we just had more time...and hadn't given up drinking!  (snort, chuckle, giggle)

As we continued our drive home, HB (HoneyBunny) asked what growers needed to make grapes good for wine.  I told him the rolling hills, with the thirty to forty degree temperature difference day to night were good for grapes.  He added that they also needed water.  Well, of course, Silly Willy!

But, we are in the desert - it does seem out-of-place to see a vineyard here.  My observation:  But, it's a dry wine

  2. I was in your neck of the woods this last weekend. I have 10 acres near Sunsites at the base of the Dragoon mountains. I love southern AZ. I have been to the wineries in Elgin many times. Glad to hear there is a new one :)
