Do You Moustache?

When you reach a certain age or point in life you grow things and make noises that you just don't want to admit.   I creak and squeak and make other embarrassing sounds at the most inconvenient times.  Come on...fess up ~ don't you have this problem from time to time?  We used to giggle when it was our teacher or Grandma.  Now it's a whole different scenario.  I AM the Grandma!

What about moustaches?  Huh?  Huh?  Why me, I say...and no one can give me a good answer!  It's all wrong!  Women should NOT need to shave their upper lips and chins.  Oh, we chuckle and joke about having stray eyebrows, but really...this is not funny.

Isn't it enough that I can't see well enough to get my makeup on smoothly?  Now I must stick my face right up to the mirror and check for a hideous moustache!  At first it was just one or two hairs to tweeze out.  Now, now so much...it requires major razing!  Well, okay, I am exaggerating.  It's not quite that bad...yet.

Could I put in a request for a milk "stach" instead?  I like milk and it isn't so degrading.  Movie stars splash their milk lines all over the magazines nowadays.

Or maybe a grass moustache?  I used to do this when I was young.  It looked okay and was totally acceptable.  Besides, I really like green!

What is your solution to a womanly moustache?  Assuming that you are of that certain age like me?  Shave?  Wax?  Flaunt?  I'd really like to know!

  1. Morning Grace! Good lord, I know what you mean. I don't have the stash so far, but I don't have a lot of hair anywhere! Thank goodness. I have a friend who is VERY hairy. She bleaches and waxes! OUCH!

    1. Ginger - I don't think I like you anymore. I am another one of your VERY hairy friends.

    2. Ginger - It's coming, so take notes. LOL! Waxing is fine, just costly at least around here. I have some Avon cream that works fine, too when I remember to use it. I have a friend who just lives with hers. That's okay for her.

  2. Oh, honey. I feel your pain. Saturday night I was aghast at all the hairs on my chinny chin chin. Now my dear hubby ~ who swears he never notices them - said to me, "Well, don't pluck them all tonight. It's time to go to bed." What? Does he not realize that he just told me he CAN see them? Needless to say, I plucked and plucked, then got out that little razor thing for the lipstache. I hate it! And, like you, I have to wear glasses to see them. It's just not fair.

    1. Grammy - Okay, we will throw our fits and fume together...may even become activists over this! My hubby doesn't mention mine, so not sure if he sees them. I don't want to ask. (giggle)

  4. Oooh, shaving is not the way to go, JMHO. Waxing is and there are laser treatments, too. But these are quite expensive. Tweezing consistently toughens the hair follicle. xo

    1. Barbara - I agree with the shaving. I only use that method when I am on my way out the door and catch sight of a few hairs!
      Thanks for chiming in!

  5. Hi Grace, I have read many articles on laser treatment for removal of facial hair. It may be expensive, but worth it if the upper hair bothers you.
Hope you will come visit my blog I just posted on "Dry Body Washing". I found this very interesting too.

    1. Marje - Laser is something I have never given much thought to. I am sure it is a good method, but I don't want to spend a lot of money.
I checked out your post today on Dry Body Washing. Interesting and something I haven't heard about before. I'll give it a try.

  6. Thanks Grace. I am so happy that you dropped by my blog & checked it out. If you do try "Dry Body Brushing" I would love to hear what you thought about it. I hope you figure out what to do about the facial hair. One day I noticed a lot of peach fuzz on my face, so I lightly shaved it. I broke out with a rash & it grew back stubby...lolol...I'll never do that again!
