Curly, Redheaded Munchkin Turns Five

My first-ever gift for my youngest Grandchild is on its way today!  You see, there was a rift in our family about eight years ago, and my son decided he didn't want to be a part of our family.  His siblings, father and I have been estranged from him and his family all this time.  We have only been able to keep in touch with his oldest daughter, since she is now out of the house and on her own as a young adult.

Not too long ago, my Daughter-In-Law contacted me and wished to reconnect.  It was an answer to many years of prayer.

We last saw two of the other three girls when they were one and three, or thereabouts.  They don't remember us.  But, the youngest, the curly, redheaded Munchkin...well, we have never met.  She is turning five on Monday!  And this Grandma is so excited to be sending off a package to her (and her sisters)!

Here she is, blowing us kisses!  And, I am blowing some right back!

This is one happy Grandma...and very Blessed!  This little one is grandchild number eleven!  Making up for lost time is going to be fun!

  1. I'm so happy for you that your prayers have been answered. I thought I had a lot of grandkids with seven, but you are way ahead of me! Birthdays, alone, keep me busy! ~ Maureen

  2. Maureen - Yes, we are blessed. The only downside is that they are all so many miles away - or states away. I just love them all to pieces!

  3. What a blessing that you have been able to reconnect. We have had a similar situation in our family. It is never a happy thing to have to deal with. I pray you get to really KNOW those kids- xo Diana

  4. Wishing you much happiness with this little one. My grandchildren are in Texas and I rarely get to see them except for online photos. I'm hoping when they are older, we can talk on the phone.

    1. Patricia - I am sorry yours are so far away. It is so hard when we can't connect physically! I treasure those hugs and kisses from the little ones, and the hugs and smiles from the older ones! But, they are too far between!

  6. It's so wonderful to hear about your blessing Grace. I am thrilled for you. I've never been a patient person when it comes to wanting something and I tend to think if it doesn't happen now it never will. You're a wonderful testament to the Lord's timing and how prayers are answered in that time, and never to stop praying and being hopeful. Thanks for sharing that with us. I look forward to seeing more of your joyous reunion.

Now, back to my reason for stopping by....
