It's Monday ~ Which Chore Day Is It?

Remember when the days of the week had a chore associated with them?  Our Grandmothers had their weeks all planned out.  Nothing haphazard about their cleaning schedules!

Monday was laundry day, perhaps Tuesday was the day set aside for shopping... and so on through the week.

Nowadays we have our phone apps, computer apps, lists, websites and more to keep us organized and on time with our chores.  You name it and someone is there to tell us when to do it, how to do it, and why we need to do it!  How did our Grandmothers ever survive?  Simple...that's it...simple.  They had six days of chores and they knew everyone would be doing laundry on Monday, shopping on Tuesday, whatever on Wednesday, and so forth.  I supposed if they forgot, they could holler over the fence and ask the neighbor which chore day it was!

So,  that said...I must now go toss a load of towels in my machine and work on my laundry!  It's Monday, after all.

What are you doing this fine Monday?

  1. LOL- I had to laugh because I thought of this just this morning. I have seven loads of laundry to do today after a big weekend....and all the bedding changes, etc. How funny is that? I am on load number 3 now...xo Diana

  2. Hi Diana,
Looks like we are on the same wave length today! I don’t have seven loads, but I do have towels, dog beds and a couple loads of clothes! Wishing I had a clothesline to hang them on like the old days!

  3. How odd that you would write this post, just when I was thinking that Monday used to be wash day! We have smart metres here and you have to do laundry after 7 at night or on the weekend or pay high hydro prices. My grandmother would be appalled! ~ Maureen
