A Whole New Game or More of the Same?

Here it is - we are in a new year!  When I was young I never believed 2012 or 20XX anything would ever seemed way too far away.  Now it is here.  So, do we follow the tradition and come up with New Year's Resolutions that we know we won't keep?  Or just continue to live our lives as we did in 2011, whether for the good or not.

After seeing a lot of articles and posts on the subject, I have found the best idea yet (for me, anyway) - I will make one resolution and do my very best to stick with it forever!  Yes...forever!  My resolution is to continue to grow closer to God each day.  It's simple.  It's huge.  It's the most important thing I can do to make my life better.

I got off track with my daily Bible reading last fall, so I plan to begin again now and stick with it throughout the year and beyond.  I will organize my prayer notes so I make sure not to miss anyone.  And so on...and so on.  By writing this here for you to see, I have just committed myself to do this. (smile)

Do you make Resolutions?  Do you manage to keep  them?  Care to share with us?

  1. I try not to get bogged down on resolutions - I look at it as every day is new day and every day try to do something to reach your goals. If you slip one day the next one is a new one to try again. Happy 2012 - I cannot believe it's here either...

  2. Well, when I was a sweet, young thing, I made resolutions to read "x" number of books each year. And then "J" and I would see who could out-read the other...she always won, though, but I still increased my library by several titles! I don't think I ever really "lost" in that scenario. :-) Signed, Greyhound Mom

  3. Lisa - I like your keeps one from feeling like a failure!

Greyhound Mom - Yes, it seems you were both winners back then. And, are still a "sweet young thing!"

    Hugs, GraceinAZ

  4. If I made them, it would be to not make any and just try to do the best each day. I think your resolution is a good one!

  5. It's always fun to hear what others plan to do better in the New Year. I want to do tooooo many things every year, so I give up on resolutions...lololo HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU!

  6. Mine is to be the WORLD'S BEST GIRLFRIEND! Ambitious, I know.

  7. New End - I'm with you...never able to keep them. But this year...YES, I will!

Marje - Never give up, LOL!

Gia - That IS ambitious, but you can do it!

    Hugs, GraceinAZ
