Gasp! There's No More Diet Cola In The Fridge!

Confession is good for the soul, right?  Okay, then, here it is...I am a Diet Cola addict.  My system needs the caffeine each morning or by Noon at the very latest!  Without it I am wandering around the house half asleep, dragging my behind from one place to another, propping my eyelids open, sluggish and grumpy.  In other words, I am no fun to be with.  <<Yawn>>

Three days ago (but who's counting, right?) we ran out of Diet Cola.  Bravely, I decided not to run to the store to buy more.  "It isn't good for you," I told myself.  "You can do without it just fine." I continued.  Well, here I am, grasping at straws, trying to figure out how much chocolate I need to eat to equal that caffeine that my body is craving, or how many cups of coffee - and I am not even a coffee lover!

Something is missing to give me energy, good humor and that all important caffeine boost that I am lacking.  Something is needed to take it's place.  I am not a health nut (although I wish I were) so I am willing to consider junk food, juice, or who-knows-what to perk me up.  I tried energy drinks...they have too much caffeine.  We older persons have quirky internal workings that do all sorts of crazy gyrations when too much caffeine gets in our intestines.  I didn't like that so much.

Finally, I decided I could manage flavored coffee each morning.  So, starting today, I will make myself a cuppa and test my theory that coffee and cola can give the same result in the energy and wake-up department.  What gets you going in the morning, in a cheery, energetic way?  Any hints or suggestions to help me kick this unhealthy habit?

  1. Okay don't laugh but the reason you might be tired is your diet could be lacking in Iodine. Sea Kelp is a natural source of iodine. You could eat seaweed or better yet just take tablets from your vitamin store. :-)

  3. That's exactly how I am with coffee. It takes two cups and an hour for my brain to wake up. It's slower than my body.

Something else I just realized this newbie needed to set up my networked blogs widget coming soon. I also really liked how you have your bookshelf with pictures of all the books and tags to identify their titles. I recognized many authors there that I myself read. However do that bookshelf?
